How do you explain the difference between medicated vs unmedicated ADHD for yourselves?

Hey everyone, I’m 99% sure I have ADHD and have been taking Ritalin for about 3 years now. My boyfriend thinks he might have it too, but he’s unsure, so I recently let him try a small dose to see if he noticed any difference. Because my own experience is the only one I really know inside out, I want to get a broader picture to compare. So, I’m really curious: What are the effects of medication for you? How do you personally describe the contrast between being medicated versus unmedicated? Any insights or ways you articulate it would be super helpful. Thanks!
