Hey everyone, kind of as simple as the title says skip to the bottom for tldr. My iPhone broke a while back but I still had a Nokia 110 lying around and so I just started using that. It doesn't support WhatsApp (or any app's other than the defaults for that matter), but that wasn't a problem because I could use WhatsApp on my laptop. After two weeks I found out that you need to log into a "host" device twice a month to keep WhatsApp active on other devices like my iPhone or tablets etc. Not having a phone, that wasn't an option of course and so I got by for a couple months, but I recently found a solution that works, janky as it is.. I realised I could use an android emulator (I use BlueStacks on my Mac but there are tons for all OSs), download WhatsApp and log in to refresh the two week timer that way. Then I wanted to use the desktop app on my Mac, the problem was it doesn't support logging in with a pin code via sms, thats only an option on the Web App, so I chose the QR code option, and using a mirror and having both windows open (emulator + WhatsApp) side by side just scanned the code that way. Janky as hell, but it works hahaha. Just thought I'd share in case someone has the same problem. tldr: get around the two week limit for WhatsApp without a "host" device by using an android emulator and a fcking mirror
