I have been studying Japanese for about a year, working through N5 and N4 grammar, vocabulary, and other areas. I have a tutor, but when it comes to speaking, I often find myself only using very basic sentences, such as “I went to the shop” or “I drank beer.” How can I improve the length and complexity of my sentences and learn to express myself better in Japanese? Also if people have any memorisation tips as well that might help.
